A Trip Down Memory Lane Part 3: My Days in SAJC

A Trip Down Memory Lane Part 3: 02S41, The Funky Bunch...

I was just browsing through my class' webpage a while ago and while looking through the many photograps we took over the past 2 years, I was inspired to continue my trip down memory lane...

By week 2, the dust had settled and we were finally starting formal lessons in SAJC. The time-table was packed with lessons all the way till 5 on some days so I was in for a long week, every week. Lectures were conducted in 2 venues: Computing in the AVA, Maths, Physics and Econs in the Auditorium. I hated the Audi cos the seats had no tables so taking notes was quite a hassle and my notes were extremely untidy. Tutorials in the classrooms were quite fun cos some of the teachers could actually stand our nosense. Mr Chan was our Physics as well as civics tutor. He can be described as a rather tall teacher who we all thought was a slacker. There were days when he would not come down for assembly and sometimes he did not really know his work well. Lessons by him were als o considered quite slack cos he never went round to check work. People could talk about other things at the back of the class and he would not care at all. But sometimes we can really piss him off. There was once we were caught skipping lecture so he gave us a lecture of his own. Ms Seet was my Maths teacher. She was very dedicated in making sure that we all knew absolutely everthing about Maths but being S41, we really could not be bothered. Most of the time during tutorial we were all playing the fool and not listening. But that came with a price: my maths was screwed really badly for most of the tests and examinations of 2002. I just want to apologize to her for all the times we made her mad. In the 2 years at SA, I had a total of 4 econs tutors taking my class so I will not elaborate on them all. Our all time favourite teacher was Mr Ng who took us for PE. According to him, we were his favourite class but some people have heard otherwise.

My favourite part of being in S41 was all the class outings we had. I still remember the first one we had to Sentosa. I had lots of fun playing volleyball and beach soccer even though I was in long pants. But my favourite class outing was the 3 day 2 night chalet stay at Costa Sands Pasir Ris during the December holidays. Though it rained practically throughout the whole 2 days, we still had lots of fun playing soccer and doing the BBQ. During then, some of the S41 people from the 1st 3 months dropped by. They were pretty cool and some were quite disappointed that they were not in the class. Anyway, that was the first time the class tasted my baking. I brought a cheese cake for the class which i baked myself. Hope it was good and that nobody got stomach trouble after that :P.

Now to talk about the people in the class. I can't name all so don't get jealous.

Firstly, we have Shahin, that "tall Chinese guy with a weird name". He's a true blue Red Devils fan. If it wasn't for all the tests and exams we had, I think he'll probably watch all the Man U matches "live". Now, this guy here is actually half "mat" (that explains his bizzare name) but he dosen't really give a damn whether he eats "halal" or not. Explains why he goes around telling everybody that he's on the highway to hell. But who's to disagree?

Then, there's the Bukit Panjang Gang which consists of Tim, David, Guangrong and Siu Po, all who stay within a small radius in Bukit Panjang. Coming from Jurong Sec and Bt Panjang Govt High, they mainly converse in Chinese but i somehow miraculously managed to actually get what they say most of the time. They may look like slackers but they are actually one of the smartest guys in the class and if you've got any problems with your computer, just look for them and your woes will just disappear. Trust me.

Finally, there's Chau, one of the only few English conversing people in S41. What's there to say? He's a soccer fan. I'm a soccer fan. So he naturally became my best friend in the class. We can talk about soccer for a whole break and then continue during lecture. We even came up with this soccer game that we played during boring lectures. I went something like this: Starting with the letter A, we were supposed to give a name of a soccer player whose name began with that letter. The person who couldn't come out with a name loses and we go on to the next letter. It was kinda fun cos it was a good way to kill time and by the end of J1, we managed to complie a Soccer Dictionary.

As they always say, it's the people, not the classroom that makes a class. So it's us, the funky bunch that make 02S41 and not B26. Thanks for reading this ya. Watch out for Part 4 which will be about the prom. Till then, leave a mark!

A Trip Down Memory Lane Part 2: Orientation 2 in SAJC

After spending 3 wonderful months at SRJC, the time finally came for the O-level results to be released. That was one day I'll never forget. At about 9 in the morning, I received a phone call from my aunt. Due to her "connections" in the MOE, she managed to get a hold of my O-level results before they were officially released. From her, I found out that I got 12 points, 3 As and 2 Bs not including Chinese. I was so overjoyed that I treated some of my SAS friends to lunch later that day. At the official "ceremony", people were excited and the atmosphere was one of pure anxiety. After a short speech by the principal, announcing some of the "miracle" cases, the results were handed out by our respective form teachers. I wasn't too anxious cos I had already got my results. The result that shocked me the most was the A2 for English, a far cry from the C6 I got for my prelims. Even Mrs Chandran, my English teacher, was surprised. Anyway, after all the results were handed out and people started leaving, I noticed some of the Sec 5 people huddling together. Some one started crying cos he had nowhere to go and it was then I realised how fortunate I was to pass and have somewhere to go. When I got home, the first thing I did was to log-on and complete the JAE form, putting SAJC(Science) as first, confident that I would be admitted and when the JAE results came out a couple of weeks later, a new chapter of my life began...

25 March was my first day in SAJC, ending up in OG10 for the first day of Orientation 2. There, I met a few people but I can only remember Thash from Temasek Sec. My memory ain't that good. We selected our subject combinations that day and 2 days later, I started my first day with 02S41, a 4-subject class taking Computing, Maths 9233, Physics and Economics. Joanne, our Civics Group Leader, started the ice-breakers. From there, I managed to catch a few names: David, Bernard, Chris 1, Chris 2 and Just Chris. Couldn't really remember the rest of the names 'cept that could remember this really tall Chinese guy who had a bizzare name. Anyway, through the games and activities, I tried to get to know a few people through soccer talk. As 4 out of 5 of the class were guys, finding soccer-kakis wasn't going to be that tough. And true enough, I was soon talking to Christopher Chau, a Liverpool fan and from SJI, who soon introduced me to Shahin, the "really tall Chinese guy who had a bizzare name" also from SJI and a Devils supporter. We quickly delved into details of the upcoming weekend matches and talking about past matches, giving comments about players past and present. 28 March so happened to be Chau's birthday so we had a combined celebration with our senior class. There was much food and drink but we were saving for the O2 finale in the evening.

That evening was the O2 finale, a real "gala" event where each class had to come in their class identity costume or what not. Anyway, my class being a computing class decided to wear keyboards and mice coupled with CDs. We looked pretty bizzare but it was worth it. We won the Best and Most Unique Class Identity. According to Joanne, we were supposed to get a clean sweep of all the prizes but were only allowed to get one. But hey, nobody's complaining. The night that followed was on filled with song, music and dance. It had everything from hip-hop to ballads and the break dancers really showed their stuff, tearing up the stage.

O2 finally drew to a close at about 10 that night. But it's really a night I'll never forget ever...

A Trip Down Memory Lane Part 1: 1st 3 Months in SRJC

Some time in November 2001, I was required to submit my choice of school which I would be attending till March based on my dismal O-level prelim results, 18 pts. Chosing the school for the PAE was kind of tough cos of the limited choice available for me. So I put SAJC first followed by SRJC due to it's close proximity to my home. The rest was nonsense. On 20 December, the results came out and I was posted to SRJC. I tried appealing to SAJC but was rejected. So I had no choice but to embark on my first 3 months of JC life in SRJC.

Day one started with orientation. I still remember going there and looking stunned and confused cos I didn't know anybody in my OG, Hydra 1, at all. Practically all the SAS guys were (deliberately) separated, probably cos of some team-spirit nonsense. There were only a few of us there: Zhi Yang, Roscoe, Alden and Lip Hang are those Ican remember. Anyway, the day began with the principal's speech followed by ice-breakers. From there, I managed to catch some names and met a few aquaintences. As I really wasn't hoping to stay in the school at that time, I wasn't that enthu(siastic) about any of the activities at all. But still, I managed to make friends with people like Fiona, Chui Jia and Jun Hao. Then came the subject talks and physical activities and not to mention the subject choosing session to fill the rest of the orientation programme. Finally, after 3 days, they managed to sort out the classes and I was posted to 1S13, a 3 subject class taking Physics, Maths and Econs. And boy, did I have a good time with them.

On the 4th day, we finally met as a class for the first time. It was quite awkward at first but slowly, people started talking among each other. I was introduced to the other "all-boys" school people, Ke Xian and David, from Marist Stella and Khairin from VS. I was introduced to Joseph and when he started talking about soccer, I knew I found a close friend. Finally, after about 1 hour of introductions, Mr Michael Low, my form tutor stepped in. He introduced himself and we did the same. After settling some admin work, he stood up and said,"I don't want to waste your time anymore, you all may leave." Fwah, direct to the point, no time for bullshit, what we all wanted. The next day was the day to choose the class committee. So happened that the previous day I was asked to photocopy the time-table for the class and that did it... I was sabohed to become class rep. Weiting was vice-class rep...

Lessons were OK except that some teachers were really crappy like that Cedric Tan, my GP teacher. He looks like an Ah Beng, dresses like an Ah Beng but talks with an English accent. Really couldn't stand him. Heard he's left the school... Good for the people there... Anyway, there was the ever-nagging Mrs Lim who taught maths. No maths tutorial would go by without her giving 15 mins of pep talk and the ever famous "I think ypu should go to poly(technic)." But my ultimate favourite teacher was Mr Chua, my econs tutor. Though he can't really speak English that well, he really good in the sense that he can really teach the economic concepts really well. Physics was taught by Mr Low whose "I don't want to waste your time anymore, you all may leave" line really worked with our class. My chinese tutor was.....shit......can't remember... aiyah...nevermind lar...

My days in SRJC bring back lot's of great memories but I can't write them all cos there's just too many. I'll always miss the school... But I still can't figure out why the conducted GP lectures...hmmm....

Everyday...

What to say? Lord, it's You who give me life and I
Can't explain just how much You mean to me now.
That You would save me, Lord, I give all that I am to You
That everyday I will be a light that shines Your name.

Everyday, Lord, I'll learn to stand upon your word
And i pray that I, that I will come to know You more,
That You would guide me in every single step I take and
Everyday I will be a light unto the world.

Everyday, It's You I live for,
Everyday, I'll follow after You.
Everyday, I'll walk with You my Lord.

It's You I live for everyday,
It's You I live for everyday,
It's You I live for everyday, My Lord...

Everyday, It's You I live for,
Everyday, I'll follow after You.
Everyday, I'll walk with You my Lord.

Farewell to SAJC... and normal school life...

Yes...the title says it all...today was my last official day as a Saint in the 3 Saint Andrew's schools...i still remember fooling around the old woodsville campus next to the highway...catching spiders, picking saga seeds and playing country eraser were part and parcel of a day in school then...i remember the famous out-of-bounds area, the tower, which was said to be haunted...but never really gave me the spooks...there are just so many ghost stories but i really couldnt be bothered to believe them...in p5, the school shifted to the new(er) campus at potong pasir, directly across the river from the sec school...though i only spent 2 years there, it brings back fond memories cos it was the first time i experienced a change of campus...after my PSLE, the results weren't that good so i HAD to remain a Saint and went on to the secondary school...ppl say the the best years of education is in secondary school...and i can't agree more to that...4 years i spent there irritating teachers and messing up the D&T workshop...but somehow amidst the fooling around, i managed to get a good enough a grade to get to SAJC...pretty lucky though...wonder where i would have been without the affiliation pts...neway...joined 02s41 in 2002 and met lotsa cool ppl like chau, zif, khail and dave...hope tt u guys will remain as friends forever...the 2 years i spent there were the best ever...teachers were cool and helpful, schoolmates having the makings of true Saints and who can forget the student council with Wayne at the helm...haha...well, that chapter in my life has come to a close and now it is time to start mugging like hell and strive to be what i can and want to be...to all the Saints reading this, all the best for the coming A's...remember to study hard and play hard at the wame time... UP AND ON!...to all ye who arent Saints, pls leave a mark...thanks!!!

Why I Just Love PLH...

It's sunday once again and that means back to church... woke at 7 to get to church by 830 for breakky and band prac... i played siu po's electric guitar for jason and claire today... but the band was awesome... there were 3 guitarists today, Shelby, Tommy and ME!!! some people said we were like an orchestra...haha... had a really enjoyable time playing for the lord...after worship was class time...auntie yueh tarn was supposed to bring us out for a meal or smthng like dat but was busy so she gave us, the JC class, $120 to go spend at marche for lunch... now i can safely say tt all of us are realy pigs when it comes to eating...spent an average of $20 per person so the total came to $174... had to fork out the rest of the shortage and claim back from the rest on friday...after lunch, followed shelby to get her guitar fixed at parklane...joined jason, ben and keenan for generals while the guitar was being restrung...shelby looked kinda bored after a while so we played pool till abt 4+...finally collected the guitar and found out that the reason why the string snapped was because they were actually old and rusty...but the guitar was new...screwy yamaha guitars...so by 5 sean and i were on our way home...he dropped dead on the bed immediately after showering saying that he was going to sleep till 630 the next morning...good nite bro...as for me, i'm sitting here typing this while watching the perfect storm and waiting for my dinner...kkz...tt's all i gotta blog abt...leave a mark k...

Cycling on and on and on and on..............

After yesterday's dinner with Ben, Jane, Shelby and Theresa, we decided to go cycling at East Coast today...Ther had tuition so she didnt come...Poor thing ...hahah...newae, we met at abt 10 at bedok and headed down to East Coast... by 1045, we got our bikes and started riding towards the direction of the airport...our first stop was at bedok jetty where we saw people fishing and took a few shots with my camera...spent abt 10 mins there before riding off again...we passed places like the lagoon food centre which was under renovation, coasta sands chalets and the udmc seafood place...we cycled until the paved track met a road...there was however an unpaved path nearer to the beach...we decided to take it and cycled to the safra golf and country club before stopping for a break at a restaurant just opposite the the country club...after finishing our drinks, we left...suddenly, i picked up sight of the runway of changi airport just down the road...so under much persuasion fom shelby and myself, we headed down to the runway...we met a main road and found ourselves at the end of runway 20L...and planes were taking off just over our heads! there was a little hill just a short distance away..climbing the hill, we could see the runway spread out in front of us...super cool sight...photoed a couple more take-offs and we were on our way back...by 145, we reached the bike station and returned the bikes...had lunch at viking hotdog and dessert at some waffle place...saw jean danker and carrie chong at macs doing some promotional stint...didnt think much abt them tho...newae, we all left at abt 3 and by 430, i was home, slightly darker than usual...hope your day was just as great as mine...so yea, why dun u tell me abt it by leaving ur mark... and yea...thanks sarah!!! and if i can find a way to put up the pics, i will...

Forbidden City: A Portrait of an Emperess...

"The Dragon Lady is going to get us killed!", yelled the people. "She's a murderer, killing her own son to ascend the throne!" So who exactly is this "horrible" woman? I soon found out after watching Forbidden City: A Portrait of an Emperess at the Esplanade earlier today with my brother... The performance was one of the highest standard... Comparing this to the Believer's musical, Broken-Up People, is like comparing Goliath to David... So was the locale... The star-studded cast perfectly re-enacted the life of Emperess Cixi, one of the last emperesses of the Chinese Soong Dynasty... Cast members include Kit Chan(the singer), Hossan Leong(Can I Help You?, The Donny Lee Show) and Amy Cheng(First Touch)... So i give the show a great 5 out of 5... There are only 6 more runs left so quickly get your tickets and come see the best of the Singapore Repertory Theatre... Tickets are priced at $111, $81, $66, $46, $36 and $11(restricted view seats) for matinee shows and $121, $91, $71, $51, $41 and $11(restricted view seats) for the evening shows... There's also a 50% discount for students aged 4 to 18... For more information, you can visit http://www.sistic.com.sg/ for more details...

Ok...so that was my review about the musical... Really hope that you guys can go watch it to see how the pros do it... Well, it's well past my bed-time so, in chinese, zai jian, goodbye and yeah, leave a mark as soon as i can get the dumb board working...

Christian Missions Week...

before i continue blogging, i just wanna apologize for the decreasing frequency of blogging...i have been rather busy the past week cos of my coming prelims in abt 4 weeks time...time asigned to the com has thus been severely cut down...however, i will try my best to blog at least twice a week...sorry abt this...anyway, back to my week...

this week was Christian Missions Week in school...it's a time when activities are planned to evangelise to the school body...throughout the whole week, a DJ booth was set up in the cafe where christian music was played and the students could make dedications while enjoying breakfast or lunch...it was also a booth for the distribution of Parousia tickets...more of that later...i spent most of my breaks at the booth chatting with my fellow SFC members, doing work or just reading out dedications...had a really good time doing that...on tuesday, Dr Atomic Leow (No, i'm not mistaken), a former student of the school who is currently a research scientist, came and gave a talk on the topic "Does God Rally Exist? Ask a Research Scientist"...well, he basically gave a talk on how science is wrong and God does exist...he also talked abt the end of the world which, according to many of the Bible scriptures, will take place any time soon...scary huh...kkz...enuf of dat...at the end of the week, Friday (today), a local christian band, Parousia, came down to give a concert in my school...the audi was packed to the brim save for some empty seats...the songs they sang were all self-composed pieces...all of them were very meaningful...though nobody responded to the altar call, i believe that the seeds were sown in the hearts of the many non-christians...now, it's all up to God's will...pray that their seed will germinated and they will become the God-fearing people that He wants them to be, all on fire for Him...was supposed to bring Shelby to go catch this gig but she had to go for some ARPC service in which Chris Chia was preaching at last moment's notice...so i bought the CD for her...and for all you who didnt get to catch them, Parousia will be playing ath the Third Place at the end of the month...all who are interested, lemme know ya...*yawn*...getting sleepy from all that perparation for the concert...kkz...i going to bed now...hopefully i can wake up early tml to start work...ciao...and pls leave a mark...

Reality Check...

Hello...wake up...5 weeks to prelims...been getting that the whole weekend...not from my teachers or parents...but from myself...yes, it's true...my prelims do start in 5 weeks...but i dunno what i'm going to do to prepare...i'm stuck for maths...cant even keep up with LAST year's work...then there's econs...i have no idea whether i can understand what's being taught now, much less those which were taught last year...well, at least i'm on top of my game for physics...think it's the only subject which i still have hope in...then there's GP...i think it's hopeless...well, at least that's what my teachers think...they said that my batch is the worst batch ever...but hey...been hearing that every year...but looking back at my Block Test 2 results, i really think i need a wake up call...

in the midst of all this, i've still been having my fair share of fun...oops...hehe...after tuition on saturday, went down to andrew's place for his b'day BBQ...there was quite a crowd...his usual invites of his uncles, aunties and cousins...then there were his classmates, marcus and i...had quite a good time...the food was good...probably because it was i, the master chef who was doing all the cooking as usual while the others just sat back to enjoy the company of their friends...we had chocolate chip ice-cream cake from sewnsens for dessert...then marcus took out the beer...seems that he bought a bottle of carlsberg before he came...as it turned out, only the both of us drank the beer...by 1030, the party broke up and we all headed home...

there was church on sunday...played for the band unofficially...i dun think i wanna continue playing especially during this period...probably stop after i play for the 9am next week...but the problem still remains...who's going to take over? the only guitarists that we have are shelby, tommy and myself...so if shelby and i stop playing due to exams, i dunno whether tommy can cope...that's why i'm hoping that the church does send ppl from lighthouse for those music lessons they were talking abt...went for lunch with ben as usual...then there was the weekly dosage of generals at the usual place...supposed to play for only an hour...ended up playing 2 1/2...crap man...really cant get enough...haha...well, that's the end of another week...another week closed to A-levels...anyway, leave a mark can??

I Hate...

i just hate it...i hate school...i hate maths...i hate physics...i hate econs...i hate GP...i hate those who CONSTANTLY put me down...i got back all my Blk Test 2 results today...got a D E O and a C6 in GP...these results were MUCH better than that of Blk Test 1 which went something like F F O and D7 for GP...when i told my aunt my results, instead of getting the "Well done...you're improving...keep up the progress and i'm sure you'll do well for your prelims, not to mention your
A-levels..." or the "come, let's analyse what went wrong..." that i expected, i got a blasting of "THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! NUS WON'T ACCEPT YOU WITH THOSE SCORES!!! DON'T EVEN MENTION NUS...SMU WON'T EVEN LOOK AT YOU!!! YOU'RE GIVING EVERYONE THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE DOING EXTREMELY WELL IN SCHOOL BUT LOOK AT YOUR RESULTS!!! THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! WHY AREN'T YOU ACHIEVING YOUR FULL POTENTIAL??? IT'S ALL THAT CHURCH WORK RIGHT???!!!" that was IT...i really couldn't take it anymore...this wasn't the first time...I lashed back at her in front of my own mum and uncle and stormed out of my grandma's place, slamming the gate so hard that i thought i heard the neighbour's cat give a shriek...i mean like, pls lar...i've already tried my utmost best that i can offer...if these are the results i get then so be it...there is nothing more that i can offer than my best...if u believe that i can do even better, don't yell at me...i just hate it when ppl know that another person has tried his/her best at a accomplishing a DIFFICULT task but end up scolding them for not meeting expectations and worse still, scolding them even though they are approacing the goals that they set for themselves...i believe that the shelling that came from her was unjustified...i feel like demanding for an apology but i know that that will just inflame the situation even worse...i dun believe it...they actually think that i dun give a flying f*** abt my education...but now hear THIS...i do give a flying f*** and i will prove that i CAN pass my A-levels with flying colours...just wait and see...someone please HELP ME!!!...leave a mark...

3 More Days...

i think my blog's getting kinda boring cos nobody has been tagging...sorry guys for the boring stuff...

Friday 18 July:
day started as usual in school...decided not to have make up tutorial with mr chan cos i was tired...however, my tiredness somehow disappeared after i managed to convince ben to go play generals once again...met him at 430 at the usual place and played till 630...went to get a Sub from Subway..but guess who i met there...Mr chan and his gf, Ms HHH...kowz...super coincidental...anyway, we brought the subs back to church where we devoured them while doing BS homework...BS started at abt 8 with Francis taking the helm once again...this time, we talked abt celebrating our gifts, something that we all lack...hope tt we all took back what was discussed cos it was kinda useful...BS finished at abt 10...went to eat prata with my bro and luke after that...then we took NEL...and another coincidence...we met Mdm Ohelers, our previous primary school principal...has been abt 4 yrs since we last saw her...cant believe that she still recognised us...maybe it was becos we were called to the office one time too many...haha...

Saturday 19 July:
totally slacked off today....didnt do much except for lunch at KFC and my hair cut...slept the rest of the day off...then i dunno what my brother doing...calls me at midnight on sarah's phone telling me to leave the key in the shoe-rack outside...come on lor...what the heck is he doing out so late??? dunno where he got influenced to do all this gallavanting so late in the night?...heard that he got blasted from my mum when he got home...really give up hope liaoz...to whoever is doing this, pls stop it...i dun want to see him become a rebel at home...

Sunday 20 July:
woke up at 7 after being exposed to bright light after sean decided to come in and get his clothes...left at 730 and got to church at 845 but not before going to LJS to get breakfast...their Texas toasts aer really good..should go try...once again, band prac couldnt start on time cos the sunday school was using it again for the missions month programme...so in the end we only had 10 mins to practice the songs...and frankly, it was kinda bad...sianz...couldnt there be some other arrangement?...class discussion soon followed worship...discussed abt the project...who's-doing-what discussion...finished at 1 and went for lunch with ben, shelby and her norweigan cousin, trine...then we played an hour of pool and then, i followed the 2 girls on a shopping trip while ben went home...walked for a total of 3 hrs and only covered 2 floors!!! it was look-see look-see...however, they spent a bomb at the basement...not going to reveal how much or what they spent on...and i was tagging along, lugging the electric guit like a dead weight....*sigh*...now my legs are totally cramped out...cant move much...*ouch*...sheesh...dunno when my mum's coming back with dinner...starving...k lar...while i starve, go leave a mark...maybe that'll make me feel better...

Time is Running Out...

been super busy lately...having late nights has really restricted me from using the com to blog...well, actually it's becos my bro has been hogging it all the time...dunno what he's doing talking on the phone and using the com at the same time...as far as i know, the only ppl who can multi-task successfully are women...maybe he's one...

Tuesday 15 July:
woke up and got to school anticipating an extremely slack day...and boy was it extremely slack...started off with a single econs lecture...that was followed by a double break...after that, there was physics and maths tutorial...then another double break...it was during one of the breaks that we received news tt there was no PE cos my teacher was involved in the oral exams ie the last period was free...it was also then that we found out tt my econs teacher was on MC...another period down...so after the double GP, i was on my way home, 2 hrs earlier than a normal tuesday...got home and slacked some more on the com till dinner...then it was mugging time...got so sleepy tt i fell asleep at my table at 930...cant believe it man....

Wednesday 16 July:
had a terrible day in school cos i got back my GP marks the first thing in the morning...scored a super low 46...tt's a D7...tho it's a pass, it's still crappy...but look on the bright side...the top student in my class got a 50...the english dept was right...my batch really has no hope in GP...die man...time is running out cos prelims are only 6 1/2 weeks away...how to buck up in time?....anyway, the rest of the day went on with my GP grades struggling for attention in my head...*Argh!!!*...got dismissed at 130 and had a quick lunch cos i needed to report for chinese oral...think i screwed it up kinda bad..couldnt read a couple of words from the passage...then the conversation was kinda crappy cos i had to ask the teacher to help me with some words...die man...looks like another 6mths of studying chinese...but when i stepped out of the hall after that, i was kindas grateful tt the oral was done and over...proceeded to LT1 for SFC...not many ppl were there...wonder why...anyway, i first signed up to be a DJ for the coming Christian Missions Week(CMW)...CMW is actually a week that my school dedicates to spend time to spread the good news...i believe that this is an event tt is unique to my school...kinda sad cos there are many many many ppl out there in other schools who dont have the opportunity to hear the gospel...so thank you, God for this opportunity...pray You can help me be an effective way of conveying your good news...we dedicated the rest of SFC time, almost 1 hr, to prayer for CMW...i tell you, praying with many christians, all of different dinominations, is very very powerful...and yes, the spirit was really there all the time...could just feel him there, listening to all our prayers...i believe tt he really wil answer...SFC finished at abt 5...tution was at 730 so i went down to PS and hung around for abt 1/2 hr...went to music plaza to check out the prices of electric guitars...then had dinner at the foodcourt...left at abt 6 and headed down to admiralty...i tot it would take 1 hr but i was wrong...got to admiralty in 30mins...so i spent a whole hour in the Macs sipping on hot Milo and finishing up my tutorial...tution was not bad cos we went thru a couple of probability qns...really need the practice...finished up at 1030 so i took the MRT home...reached home at 1130 dead tired...took a shower, lay on my bed and fell asleep instantly...

Thursday 17 July:
today was the day tt the 25th Student Council of my school stepped down and the 26th took over...the stepping-down ceremony turned emotional when the president came up to give his speech...with tears rolling down his eyes, he thanked the many ppl who were involved in making the job of the Student Council successful... then when he asked the councillors to remove their council badges, many of them also broke down...really emotional morning man...felt like crying too... not!!!...hehe...the rest of the day went on as usual...got off at 3 and came home...have tuition later at 730 at Kallang cos Malik is back...see when i can blog again but in the meantime, leave a mark...

Electric Guitar Blues...

Saturday 12 July:
today was the day of the 'AO' level chinese listening comprehension...we had to report at 830 but the thing only started at 930...so we wasted one hr talking trash in the D block...talked abt almost everything but most prominent was soccer, the common language...talked abt how chelsea's, or now known as Chelski, new president, some super rich ruskie tycoon, was thinking of buying almost every big player out there...heh...but most of the offers were rejected tho...but the most shocking of all was that blackburn let Damien Duff go to Chelsea for 18mil...are they going mad?...cos duff is one of blackburn's best players..not to mention top scorer...and after selling David Dunn, they're screwed...well, good luck rovers...at 930, the listening started and it ended at abt 1015...spent 2hrs+ in school for a 45 min paper...dunno what the buggers at MOE are doing...SARS is gone...so RELAX LAR!!!...then i followed Po Ben, David and Tim Wee for breakfast/lunch at Queens mac...following which we took 963 to bt panjang...they were going home while i slipped to Siu Po's place to pick up his $1,000 Ibanez RG electric guitar...borrowed it cos i felt tt jason's worship would sound better with an electric guitar involved...took the MRT frm Choa Chu Kang to Ang Mo Kio when i headed home...got back at 6+...i immedieately started practicing the next day's worship songs with the "new arrival" without an amp...tho no sound could be heard, i think i gained some profiency with it...at least i managed to change chords on it with no problem by the end of my "jamming " session...

Sunday 13 July:
sunday started early for me as usual...woke at 7 and went to church at 730...had prata for breakfast...while having my meal, i received news tt band prac could only start at 10 cos the sunday school was using our room for some missions thingy...tt was 1 hr of practice time gone...and the time was crucial cos firstly there was a new instrument which nobody has experience in playing and secondly we haven't done some of the songs on friday...we tried to make our thoughts known to the sunday school but they said that ours was the only room that could accomodate for this presentation...we had no choice but to wait...10 o'clock finally came and band prac commenced...dunno whether it was because i was tired or not but i kept messing up my chord-sheets and scores...tt was not good...sheesh...but the good thing was that the electric guitar sounded quite good...after a short 10 min delay, worship kicked off...it was kind of terrible for me cos, being the lead guitar or should i say the only guitar, i had trouble hearing myself...so that was a problem cos i couldnt really coordinate properly...anyway, some of the songs were tough cos of the super fast chord changing that was involved...esp so with My Best Friend...cool song tho...done best by Hillsongs...Lyrics anybody?

Verse 1:
Have you heard of the One called Savior?
Have you heard of His perfect love?
Have you heard of the One in heaven?
Have you heard how He gave His son?

I believe in The Son
Show me Your way

Jesus You are my best friend
And You will always be
And nothing will ever change that

Verse 2:
I believe in the One called Savior
I believe He’s the Risen One
I believe that I’ll live forever
I believe that my King will come

Pre-Chorus:
Cause I found this love
I believe in The Son
Show me Your way

Chorus:
Jesus You are my best friend
And You will always be
And nothing will ever change that

Bridge:
Nothing will ever change that
Nothing will ever change that

yup...jesus is my best friend cos he's always there for me...unlike my other friends, he's ever faithful and good to me...thanks Lord for You!...finished up a supercharged worship session and there was a talk abt missions by elder kelvin...he was talking abt being missionaries right here in S'pore by sharing with the foreingners here...well, i can only pray that all of us will have the desire to see the word spread thru the entire world...then came the project...uncle nick gave us the briefing on the project that each class was supposed to do and submit in 5 wks...the J1/J2 class was assigned to do an interview with a Fillipino and to find out some bkgrnd info abt their lifestyles back in the Philippines...quite easy considering tt most of the ppl in my class are outgoing...i think our interviewee will probably be scared of us...haha...so tt was church for this week...then, some of us headed to BK to da bao $2.30 Mushroom Swiss Burgers with extra mushrooms...quite a good deal i must say...haha...so after a quick lunch back in church, ben gabriel and i went once again to the Paradiz $1/hr LAN gaming place for more Generals....3 of us really kicked butt man...haha...played for abt 2hrs and headed home...picked up a meatball sub with extra onion from subway on the way...on the train, the smell of the onions started to leak..sorry...haha...the whole train smelled of onions by the time i got off...ppl were trying to find the source but to no avail cos the sandwich was in my bag...haha...the situation was no different in the LRT...got home at abt 5...played flight sim till i slept...

Monday 14 July:
monday again...monday blues crept in while i was sleeping cos i couldnt really force myself out of bed at 530...nearly missed my train because of that...had the usual morning worship before assembly...then there was PE...for the first time in 2 yrs, Mr Ng agreed to let us play field soccer...the soccer-mad ppl were supercharged for today's PE after Mr Ng said that...haha...we played a total of 80 mins non-stop...te score in the end: Eastside 8 : 5 Westside...i, quite obvioulsy, was playing for the Eastside...but the man-of-the-match award went to michael aka tiger for scoring 4 goals out of my team's 8...he truly was at the right place at the right time...haha...the rest of school was quitboring as usual...luckily ms teo decided to let us off 1 period early for econs...i really couldnt stand it no longer...headed straight home after that...now, it's 820 and i havent taken my dinner...shall go do that now...while i munch away, do leave a mark...

Talk to the Hand cos the Face Ain't Listening...

Thursday 10 July:
thursday started off with the usual morning worship at 7 followed by assembly and chapel...the school invited some local christian band to do the worship session..called parousia i think...quite good for a local act...they didnt have drums tho...a bit bizzare but they were awesome still...esp the guy on the guitar...jeffery i think...ya...strumming and plucking at the same time...*sigh*...wonder when i can be that good...haha...*dreams*...they'll be playing at my school's audi on the 1st of August...anybody interested?...gimmie a call and i see what i can do...probably try to sneak u guys in...haha...after that was normal lessons...and as usual, was quite boring...slept through most of them...haha...except physics...did experiment...after school, went with colin, tim wee, david, guangrong, kai ling and wai wai to watch T3 at PS...caught the 435 show...smuggled a LOT of food from KFC into the cinema using my NEW 22 litre Deuter Futura 22...haha...wad a joke...while ppl crunched on popcorn, we chomped popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes and best of all, CHEESE FRIES!...the CGI effects of the movie were quite good though the storyline could use some editing...for the first time, a Terminator movie drew more laughs than one by Jackie Chan...those who plan on going, watch out for the phrase: "Talk to the hand, cos the face ain't listening..."...appears twice...my rating: *** out of a possible 5...not that fantastic...after movie, we went down to Times to do window shopping...david couldnt find the book he was looking for, Catch Me If You Can, which is based on the movie...does anybody know where it is sold?...headed to grandma's place on NEL after that...had dinner then went home...

Friday 11 July:
end of the week...and it started with a doule break...went to reading room to try to mug...ended up sleeping like shahin, bernard and ida...crappy man...haha...the rest was just plain boredom...moral ed was followed by GP...slept a good half hour there before the teacher realized tt i was dozing off...just told her that i was on medication and it was making me drowsy...u know, if that piece of crap was worth $1mil, i'd be rich man...she totally bought it...haha...even told me to get a green slip and head home...haha...then during lunch break, i developed an extremely bad cough...so i called mr chan and asked for green slip...he readily agreed as usual...this meant that i spent a total of 15mins paying attention in class today...a new record...i went over to dr tham's place and got some medication...cost me, or rather my mum, $42...kowz...the nurse said it was the antibiotics that cost the most...well, they are new formula ones...got home at arnd 130, the time i'm usually dismissed on fridays...played flight sim till abt 430 when i left for band prac...reached 5 mins late...bu wasnt the last...*phew*...prac was not bad...actually hit the targeted 3 new songs within 2 hrs...had a rushed dinner and there was BS...realized that i didnt bring notes then...*sian*...luckily alex didnt scold or anything...today's session was quite an interesting one...we learned that if we dont put whatever gifts we have, it'll all come down to nothing and even abandonment by God...quite scary manz...Matthew 25:14-30 says it all...also, the session was quite enlightening cos some of us found out what gifts we have...aint gonna tell u mine tho...hehe...it's for me to know and for you to observe and see what they are...so what do u think they are?...tell me while u leave a mark k...

Back to School...

when i first started blogging, i told myself that i would blog every single day no matter what...but now it seems that the circumstances have changed some...ever since the term began, i realised that i would have less and less time available to spend on the com...that equals less bloging...so i'm sorry for this..anyway, back to when i last left off...

Monday 7 July:
Youth Day!...means no school so i went out with andrew, jill and marcus...met andrew first at PP MRT then headed to PS to meet jill...we were kinda hungry so we went to the food court for a korean hotplate lunch...it was then that we went to meet marcus...after the rendevous, we still had to wait for 2 of jill's classmates, edwin and dixon, before proceeding to monstercue 2 for pool...pool that day was like crap...couldnt play well cos i havent played since last year...no practice = disaster...tiffany, another of jill's classmates came a short while later...we played off the rest of the games and left around 4...played abt 2 hrs but the rate there was quite good cos it was a weekday...$6 per hr...we headed back to PS to watch dumb and dumberer...the title says it all...it really was a DUMB show...but was quite hillarious at times...my rating: *** out of a possible 5...andrew wanted to buy PS2 games so i followed him to serangoon central to get them...haddinner there too...at the shop, i bought the much anticipated simulator of the year, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight...been waiting months for this release...but on the down-side, it cost me $20 cos there were 4 CDs...walked at the pasar malam near the bus interchange for a while before we went our seperate ways...i headed to my aunt's place to get my 6610 back...then i headed off home...it was abt 9+ when i got home...first thing i did was install MSFS2004ACOF...took me quite some time cos there were some files missing here and there...so had to manually extract them...but at last i got the thing up and running...did some test flights before going to bed...and it was already 1+...there was school the next day...

Tuesday 8 July:
back to school for JC kids...found it difficult to get up cos of the late night i had...so i had to rush out of the house 10 mins late...took NEL and reached school at 710...a little later than i hoped...school was kinda good cos i had many breaks and PE was my last period...SOCCER!!!...left at around 530 and got home at 630...kowz...forgot what i did after that...sheesh...my memory is failing me...

Wednesday 9 July:
school was quite ok once again...quite slack and there was a double break which i spent on the couch in the balcony sleeping...i wasnt the only one though...there were 3 other of my classmated there too...heard tt we attraced a couple of stares too...we were there first so too bad! :P ...after school, went for CIP at the Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home once again with the SFC ppl...it was quite a blast as well as a challenge trying to teach kids who refused to listen to you...a really humbling experience and a great way to remember what we were like as young kids...haha...now i can feel how my mum and teachers felt when i was in P1...finished at 4 and i got home by 5...been on the com since then...cant be on much longer but u take your time to leave a mark ya...

Funday...

yes! finally PLH is given the opportunity to show our stuff to the congregation and to become a stronger presence in PSPC...after weeks of preparation on the part of the worship leaders, the band and the techie ppl, the day has finally come...arrived in church 5 mins late...would have been later if i hadnt met zara and uncle joe outside the MRT station...thanks for the lift manz...practice officially commenced at 745...did that till abt 840 when i went to have breakfast...then, 9am came...was feeling kinda nervous cos i was gonna do the intro for the 1st song...then i came to realize...if that was bad, i wonder how jane and shelby were feeling...it was then that i noticed that their hands were trembling as they stepped up on stage...kowz...i dun think i would have the courage to do that man...zhen pei fu ni men liang...translation: really admire you two...so worship commenced...it was like no other worship that i ever sat for...there was a more homey feeling to this one and i could really feel God moving thru the MPH as we played and sang...a powerful feeling that i havent felt since Life Concert...it was great!...so service went on without a hitch...dr lee's message was quite interesting...at least i didnt fall asleep..*shhh*...maybe it was because of the adrenalin that was flowing in my blood...heh...anyway, we finished service and immedieately after the postlude, many many of the congregation members came up and thanked us for leading today and even asked if we could do it again...the feeling was wild...looks like we'll be up there more often now...hehe...i just wanna thank the worship leaders for all the effort they put in...heard that shelby didnt sleep a wink last night...poor girl...so after we wraped up the service, it was packing time...seems that we misplaced a cable and were supposed to report to aud abt it...wonder if ben called her...hmmm....then, it was off to paradiz AGAIN to play C&C Generals AGAIN but not before a quick bite...initially, i tot that most of the PLH ppl were going but in the end, they decided to kick ball instead...that left ben and i AGAIN...so it was another 2 hrs of kill, kill, kill...kowz...still got some of the generals stuff in my head..."I build for CHINA!" "For the Red Army!" "I am only a peasant."...hehe...at abt 4, i headed home on NEL...got home and turned on the com...then, i started watching this documentary on nuclear...the bizzare thing was that i actually fell asleep while watching...was really tired cos i also didnt have much rest the previous night...got woken up by a phone call frm aunt...seems that she's back from the US and that means tt i can get my 6610 back finally...tt was at arnd 7 something so i met mum for dinner...did a little shopping at Compasspoint afterwards...super tired now...took the cold medicine which is making me kinda drowsy...*yawn*...leave a mark ya?...*yawn*...

Post Block Test Period...

kowz...missed 2 days of blogging...too tired to blog on thursday cos i spent the whole afternoon playing generals with ben...cant imagine i played 4 hrs straight...that was after my checkup at alexandra hospital...but the doc said tt ishould come back the next day for an ultrasound of my heart to determine if anything was wrong...so on friday, i headed down the the hospital first thing in the morning at 8...i tot it would take at least 2 hrs so i ended up waiting 3 hrs in queensway macs for the cl listening compre to start...i still dunno why we need listening compre at blk test 2 level...we didnt even sit for a written paper!...stupid admin ppl...it was 1 hr wasted in school man...should have taken jon's lead and dun bother showing up...anyway, after the paper, i followed my class for outing at sentosa...siloso beach to be exact...there were supposed to be abt 15 ppl going but 7 of them played us out...reasons, or should i say excuses, ranged frm 'i need to send my mum off at the airport' to 'my friend not going so i dun want to go'...i mean, come on lar...that's pathetic lor...so the 8 of us, all guys went there with slightly dented spirits...what's the fun in a beach outing without girls?...reached siloso beach at about 2...couldnt find an available volleyball court so we started kicking the ball at the beach soccer court...it was then that we realized that volleyballs were too hard to kick around...*ouch*...thankfully, the volleyball court suddenly became available and we started playing...however, due to the lack of practice, we couldnt even get a single rally on properly...either ppl were missing balls or they hit them into the net...*sianz*...then this group of guys came along with a soccer ball and asked if we would like to play with them 6v6 soccer...that meant tt one of us had to sit out while another had to join them...so the game began...in abt 20 mins, the score was 4 all...quite good considering that most of us really cant play in the sand...haha...then another group of challengers came and we decided to finish off the match by playing 2 goals...they won and we took a break...then, we noticed that the A12 girls were also at the beach...so we played around with the volleyball with them...i left at 4 cos i had to go for band prac...so i took NEL once again to dhoby ghaut and transferred to a bus on my way down...band prac wasn't really that good cos some of the equipment screwed up and kurt couldnt come...so shaun took his place on the piano...we ended at abt 720, 10 mins before BS and i havent even done my homework, yet alone eat...so it was rush hour...bought chicken rice from round the corner and went back to church to eat...was trying to do my HW at the same time but only managed to do 1 question...i tot i was going to die...auntie june came in 25 mins late...zara and charlene, 35 mins late...yup, it's the girl syndrome in action again...BS ended slightly later cos we did a very through BS this time...after that, i received a call from dad who told my bro and i to take a cab to singa inn for dinner and to meet him...glad that he's back frm malaysia...so we met him and after dinner round 2, we sent his friend to a hotel before going home...

saturday started with taking my dad's friend of a tour of singapore...more like little india only...my dad, bro and i went to mustafa shopping complex for some shopping and had lunch at some tandoori restaurant along serangoon road...the food there was quite good i must say...after lunch, we headed to sim lim tower to look at electronics cos my dad's friend wanted to buy either a phone or camera...but we couldnt find anything so we went to sim lim square...it too came down to nothing...i left the 3 of them at abt 4 cos i had to meet ben for another round of generals...we found that trying to beat a hard enemy was really quite hard especially because we got trashed...so round 2 was us vs a pair of normal GLA...quite simple considering that it only required 5 overlord tanks to overrun one of the bases...stopped playing at 615 and went to church for band prac...helped set up the equipment and by 715, the show was on the road...went through all the songs twice just in case...finished around 9 so i went home to this blog...hope your last 2 days were just as interesting...tell me abt it k...pls leave a mark!...

It's over man... It's FINALLY OVER!!!

yes, you're right...BLK TEST 2 is OVER!!! woo hoo!...finished my last paper, physics, today...quite badly done i must say...couldnt complete cos got stuck on a question...*sigh*...wonder if that will kill my grades...now that i've finished exams, that leaves ben and shelby...hehe...see you at the finish line!!...kowz...this is the first time when i really got nothing to say...*gosh*...this is bizzare...kkz...anyway, i bet u do have something to say so just leave a mark!!!

In the Midst of Exams...

didnt blog for 1 day again cos i was just too lazy to and cos my bro hoged the com again...hope u didnt mind :P

Monday:
30 june meant the start of block test 2...i had GP on that day but it was scheduled at an ungodly hour of 1150...tt meant that it was supposed to go on during lunchtime...dunno wad the ppl at the admin office doing...anyway, i went to school for the paper at abt 11...and it was a killer paper...the compo was not so bad...wrote on "Should war be considered a solutin to all conflict? Discuss"...quite ok...but still think will flunk cos i just didnt have that much confidence while writing...paper 2 was the ultimate killer compre...the english usd in the passage was super complicated...even worse than reading old english...*sianz*...super screwed liaoz...finished at abt 3...then had lunch with marcus..tried the food at the new japanese cuisine stall in school...i ordered teriyaki chicken don...must say tt the texture of the rice was not bad but the rest was completely tasteless...*bleh*...cannot make it manz...you wont be seeing me patronize that stall in a while tt's for sure...left school ard 4 and took NEL home...reached home at abt 5...fooled ard with the com and typed out the article tt i was supposed to help candice out with...it's done but when i tried to send it, candice's inbox was full once again....could someone pls tell her to empty it??? thanks...had dinner at 8 and tried to study after that...somehow couldnt...ended up watching rambo and shortly after, the news...and after the news was friends with SMALLVILLE in tow...*kowz*....really couldnt study manz...haha...fell asleep after SMALLVILLE...super tired...and trying to get some rest before econs and maths the next day...

Tuesday:
my alarm buzzed off at 530...got up and quickly got ready for school...headed out at 6 and took the LRT to Compass Point...but guess what? the MRT was delayed by 20 mins...*kowz*...it's only day 10 and hiccups like this happen already...wonder how the future will be like manz...haha...got so pissed with waiting tt i headed to the cab stand and tried to get a cab but to no avail...there were practically no cabs arnd...so i dialed for one and 5 mins later, i was on my way to school...final cab-fare: $16.10...super EX manz...*sianz*...half my remaining allowance gone just like dat...maybe i should claim frm my mom...haha...got into school just as morning worship ended....luckily still had time to pray...soon, it was 745 and my class s l o w l y made its way to the hall for econs...nearly got scolded for being slightly late...paper was kinda hard...probably getting an E or O at best...my target was a C...*haiz*...ended at 10 and then there was the gruelling 4 hrs wait for the next one to start...THANKS A LOT ADMIN PPL!!!...did some revision during that time although spent most of it talking trash with my classmates...finally, 230 came and once again we s l o w l y made our way to the hall...paper commenced on time and boy was it easy...practically finished the paper with 1/2 hr remaining...was feeling kinda awkward cos when i looked ard, everbody was still doing the paper...got quite scared...tot i didnt finish one section but i finished the whole paper...musta been too easy...predicting a C or if possible a B...haha...took the NEL hme once again...but this time, things were even worse...the train kept stopping at stations longer than usual...and i mean LONGER...at least 10 mins wasted...to make matters worse, as it approached sengkang, it suddenly stopped with a terrible jerk...some were caught off-guard and were nearly hurled out of their seats...dunno what SBS Transit is doing man...so i just got home, tired as ever and feeling gulity tt i havent started on physics...haha...eh i tell u ar...if u dun leave a mark, you will feel guilty too...so just do it...

Stay-over Blues...

hehe...didnt blog for 1 day cos i spent the night with some of the lighthouse kids at candice's...yesterday's activities kicked off, no, tipped off with basketball...initially started playing at 4 plus with jase, julian, ben cher and my bro...later more people came...played till abt 5 plus when i went to help uncle victor start the BBQ fire and prepare the tables...the special charcoal he used was so difficult to start so we ended up using like nearly 10 pieces of starters...finally got the fire started just when the people came pouring in...

PLHers who came:
- jase
- ben cher
- zara
- charlene
- candice
- julia
- sean
- matthias
- gabriel
- ryan
- julain
- hannah
- ben smith
- sarah
- calvin
- and myself that's all i think....

hehe...dinner officially started off with a prayer said by rev ridge orr, PSPC's new pastor...the dinner was quite a spread with all sorts of food...chicken wings, lamb chops, pork chops, kebabs, prawns, stingray, potatoes, bee hoon, squid, sausages and the stars of the show, crabs and lobsters...ate until i dropped man...then i sat down to catch a documentary about israel's nukes...quite a cool show...ben s. enjoyed it through...after that, it was back to the court...another 3 hrs of bball...quite a good day for me...practically scored 50% of my team's goals...matthias was also super on-form too... bagged a couple with layups...of course there was jase putting most of the other team's goals home...though we lost, we stilled enjoyed ourselves...made a new friend too...candice's cousin, andre, was my teammate...he's a fellow saint, currently studying in SAS and in 4S1...says tt he wants to go to JC but i tried to make him change his mind by telling him abt the amount of work that has to be put in in order to survive...haha...quite the traitor right?...anyway, went back to the house at abt 1030 when the lights went off...tt was when i decided to spend the night there...brought ben back to my place to get clothes for church the next day...too NEL to sengkang and transferred to LRT...it was ben's 1st time in an LRT and in sengkang...wonder whether he was impressed with my place cos it was in a mess when i got home...so we packed a bit of clothes and headed back to candice's place...by the time we reached, it was 1145...most of the party had dispersed...the only ones remaining were the cell-group ppl...oh, did i mention tt it was a party to celebrate auntie doris's b'day?... sheesh...haha...the kids were watching the animatrix when we got back...on disc 2 and the 2nd last show...sheesh...missed almost everyting...it was TV time till abt 1 plus...caught WWE Smackdown and part of rush hour 2...with the TV finaly off, most ajourned to the kitchen to have even more fun cooking, playing cards and mahjong...as for ben and i, being the hardworking ppl we are, headed to candice's room to mug econs...finally completed up to the mid of international trade...spent most of the next hour talking with the "sisters" as they each went in and out of the bathroom...after a while, got reseless and went to the kitched to see what was going on...helped out with the cooking of some truly awesome dished...ok lar...they were only scrambled eggs...but they were elaborately done with spices...smelt more like pizza after cooking...and the noodles weren't too salty!...after most cleared to the upstairs, stayed behing and watched mahjong...quite cool...didnt play though...got bored after a whinl and went up to the room...found the kids watching more TV...some horror show which they were laughing to...then candice suddenly came in and asked me to help her with some work...did tt for abt an hour...then ppl started having crazy ideas...we started helping a sleeping calvin look nicer by adding make-up and toothpaste in to his ear!...i just watched...then it was backt o the animatrix...rescreened cos julia missed it earlier...however, tt turned in to a pillow fight...everybody started whacking julia...boy was it the best blanked party ever manz...it all stopped whrn ben suddenly got up and ordered everything to STOP...kowz...everone in the room was so scared manz...by tt time, it was already 6 something...tt was when i realized tt i didnt bring shoes...so after about 5 mins of contemplation, i decided to make my way home for a shower and the shoes...reached home at abt 715...then i left my place an hour later for church...wanted to catch some sleep on the way...but i'm telling u man...u cant sleep in NEL cos of the door buzzer...it's super loud...every time it goes off, i'll wake up...and due to it's fast speed, i woke up every 4 mins cos it reached a new station...sianz...then, had b-fast with ben, zara and julian at the prata place...at 930, band prac started...went in half-cocked but still managed to survive...a little grouchy due to the lack of sleep though...luckily shelby was there to encourage me to just follo along and play...worship started late cos the tecchie ppl didnt have to ppt presentation up on time...so we started 15 mins late...spent most of tt 15 mins trying to change chord on time for the fast songs...the rest was spent trying to sleep...worship went without a hitch 'cept for the chord changing...sianz...class time was, in my opinion, a waste of time...instead of doing what was set out for us, we ended up talking abt service...class ended at 'round 1245...attended a meeting with the ppl involved in service...had a tiff with someone who pissed me kinda bad cos of bad attitude and made me wonder...was last year's camp on material posessions really useful?...PLHers, pls post your opinions k...went to the arcade to shoot off all my worries...packed a packet of mee goreng and had it at church...thank god for Mr Chang...he found my pick once again...and gave me another...many thanks...headed home straight after that...fell asleep on the bus...tt was my first wink of true sleep in 31 hrs...kowz...a new record for me...reached home and went straight to sleep after a shower...been sleeping till 915...then it was blog time!...so here it is, 2 days worth of blogs...*haiz*...no matter though...leave a mark k....

Tragedy in the World of Sport...

woke up this morning to very sad news...chris chau msged me early in the morning to inform me that man city player, marc-vivien foe died suddenly in france...it was the confederations cup semi-final tie btw cameroon and columbia...cameroon was 1 goal up since 9th minute...18 mins from full-time, cameroonian star midfielder, foe, just collapsed in the middle of the field...he was pronounced dead by the cameroonian team doctor after 45 mins of unsucessful attempts to restart his heart...the cause is yet to be determined...however, my brother believes tt foe was on drugs and collapsed when his body couldn't take it...chau has this theory tt he collapsed due to the heat...but come on lar...they were playing in France where the temp was, on average, 28 degrees...well, no matter what anybody says now, he's dead and tt's it...soccer has truly lost a brilliant star...emotions ran high during the other semi-final match btw france and turkey...henry dedicated his goal to foe, pointing to the sky as a celebration...many of he players on both sides actually broke into tears just before the match...desially even added that many of the french players have either played with foe or against him...what a sad day for soccer indeed...*sigh*...now, back to me, a tragedy ever since....

Left home for school at around 12...took NEL to harbourfront to meet grace for lunch...and then, the classic girl syndrome showed itself yet again...she arrived 20 mins late...i still cant understand girls manz...*haiz*...anyway, had lunch and headed to school for consultation with ms seet...though my attention only lasted one period, i'm glad tt i actually picked up some stuff from her...soon, it was time to leave...took NEL with grace...she was on her way home to Kovan while i alighted at dhoby ghaut and made my way to church for band prac...band prac went kinda smoothly tho less than 1/2 of the the musicians were there...after prac, there was DBS... uncle nick took the upper sec class and alex took the kids...but for some reason, alex dragged ben into the next room...but heh...BS still went on for the older kids minus the philosophy talks as shelby wasnt there too...she had to leave early cos she had maths paper the following morning...learnt quite a bit abt spiritual gifts and tt we should not put those who only possess the 'lower ranking' few down cos "We are family! I got all my sisters with me! We are family! Get up everybody and sing!"...haha...after BS, followed uncle justin's car home...i practically dumped my brother to his commitments and just scooted off...uncle justin had to fetch julian and aunty ross home 1st so the journey was a little longer as well as crowded...just got home abt an hr ago and now i'm typing away, as well as trying to solve a friend's problem...*haiz*...how do you comfort a girl who's bestest best friends just stabbed her in the back (not literally lar)?...i just dunno man...got any ideas??? leave 'em in the tag-board as you leave a mark...thanks for stopping by...JIMMY!

Maths, maths and more maths...*sianz*

the title says it all...it was maths the whole day...with a pinch of physics...started with a quick trip down to school on NEL for maths lecture at 9...was quite useful though...learnt somethings that i really didnt know before...it lasted till 1130...then went to seah im hawker centre fo lunch with the S41 bunch...the food there is super cheap manz...a HUGE plate of kway teow only costs $3...saved a lot of cash on that trip...then it was back to school for physics consultation...the consultation session was kinda good...went thru op-amp, electro induction and most of the other blk test 2 topics...very fortunate to have a tutor like mr chan...after that was over, it was off to church to go mugging with my best bud, ben...spent almost and hour talking crap before delving into our various subjects...guess what subject i did?...yes, you're right!...it was maths...did a couple of p&c and probablity qns...that took abt 2 hrs...suddenly, i recieved a call from shelby saying that there was tution tonight...it was already like 530 and tuition was at 6...i went "how in the world do you expect me to get dinner and go to admiralty in less than 30 mins?"...luckily, hong tatt graciously gave us an extra 30 mins to get to tuition...*heng man*...so i had a quick dinner with ben staring at me in sunshine plaza...that was followed by a quick dash to dhoby ghaut mrt station...the train was super crowded when i boarded but the crowd died down by the time the train reached bishan...finally after 1/2 hour of being squished by the hoard of people, the train pulled into admiralty station...a short five minute walk to hong tatt's place and tuition commenced...it was yet another 4 hours of maths...non-stop...finished at 1030, exhausted...so i decided to use the last of my allowance and took a cab home...the cabbie was driving like a madman...i got to my doorstep in 15 mins...and it was from Woodlands!...super dead beat now...and i still have to go for maths consultation tomorrow...*sigh*...*yawn*...while i go off to bed, you leave a mark ya?...nitez~! *yawn*...

Lost in the Woodlands...

Mid-week...super no mood to study...started doing perm and combi...got stuck at the 1st qn...called zif and asked him for help, he also didnt know how to do...but luckily there's maths lecture the following day...*phew*...what a relief...so after trying that question, i basically became too demoralized and gave up trying to do maths questions...putting my hope fully on the lecture...*fingers crossed*...practically spent the whole day on the com...played CS, CM4 surfed the net, MSN, MIRC etc...in the evening, bought the new paper...as usual, being the sports fan, i started reading from the back...flipping thru about 8 pages, i stumbled upon an article title 'Lost in the Woodlands: Local soccerfans went to the Bishan Stadium last night to catch the action in a mouth-watering Singapore Cup clash between Home United and Woodlands - the top-two S-league teams this season. But what they witnessed was a 10-0 slaughter of the rams."...after reading the title, i was already laughing...how can a 2nd placed team go down by 10 goals to the team placed just 1 rung above them?...it's just too ridiculous...maybe Woodlands ought to find themselves a new coach...haha...die...it's almost 8...gotta rush off to school now...u rush off to leave a mark ya!?...ciaoz...

New, News, Newsy...

today's the day for new things...got up to a brand new day that the lord has made...many thanks, lord...shelby msged me saying that her tuition teacher didnt mind me crashing one lesson...OVERJOYED MAN!!!...finally, i found myself a maths tutor!!!...better get better grades too...just then, i remembered my bro kinda owed me a little $$ so i decided to go to compass point to get a new optical mouse with his $$ cos my old trackball one was getting kinda screwy...anyway, had my lunch there and got the new equipment...and boy does it work great!...glad i made a right decision...so it was back to the books...i lasted for abt 1 hr then my eyes got heavy and went to nap for an hour...2.45 i got up and got ready to go for the 1st tution lesson with shelby...took a bus to Yio Chu Kang MRT stn and then transferred to a train to Admiralty...a bit far rite?...heh...got to the station at 'round 3.35 though we planned to meet only at 3.45...see, i'm always punctual...but guess what?...she only came at 4...haiz...why are girls always late?...could someone pls answer that?...i can't imagine myself saying this but tuition was kinda fun and helpful...got "reunited" with an old tuition buddy too...we did statistics today and the lesson was more of a recall lesson, remembering the long forgotten methods and formulae...die man...haha...finished at 7.10 and headed home...shelby went to her grandma's place for dinner and to study...sez that her grandma's place was a more conducive environment...well, whatever works man...on the train, she actually asked if she could crash one of the holiday lectures...i was like 'go ahead...if u can find a uniform lar'...haha...kk...reached home at abt 9 only to find my bro watching x-men2 on the com...kowz...had to wait for him to get off then i could write this...i need another com man...haha...kk...enuf said...now go get to work...leave a mark...

One Day...

what a waste of a day...woke up at 10...fooled around with the com till about 1 when my bro took over...had a nice Mac's lunch...finally decided to get to work but somehow, i just couldn't start...i remember my principal saying something about inertia, once you stop (church camp), its just going to be difficult to restart and get back into the mugging...well, at least i'm starting...really hope to cover what needs to be covered in time...anyway, at 'bout 6, i went to my aunt's place for (a free) dinner...was planning to leave at 8 but my eyes were just glued to discovery channel so we left only at 9...once a home, it was time to hit the books once again...mug...mug...mug...till 1130 when SMALLVILLE just ended...i just wanted to SCREAM!!!what a waste of a good day...*sigh*...but leaving a mark ain't a waste of time...so pls do leave a mark!

Sunny sunday...not so sunny for me...woke up slightly late, rushed to church, had band prac and finally did worship...committed a few mistakes but luckily nobody noticed them :P...then alex calls me and tells me tt we've gotta talk...so we go to the 1st floor and had our little discussion at the stone tables...he sez tt i stirred up some trouble wif the younger mentors wif my attitude and tone or something along that line...after i heard that, my mood went *kaput*...we finished at 1230 so by the time i went back to class, most things were over...so much for productivity...but at least i had a chance to reflect...as i said, my mood was at rock bottom so i started ignoring people...so to those i 'daoed' today, my humble apologies i hope you accept...then, i followed a couple of mentors namely germaine, tommy, shaun, joel and jeff out for lunch at parklane...and boy was it hillarious...jokes and teases were thrown about freely, mostly at germaine(bachang) and tommy(fatboy)...it was a great time...finally at abt 2, we decided to break and head off in our own seperate ways...so i took a bus home...on the way back, i really had a chance to reflect and get the opinions of jane and shelby...the sms conversations lasted till abt 4 plus...so a special thanks goes out to jane and shelby for really being the truest of friends in times of need...also a GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO YOU, LORD for sending special people like alex, jane and shelby to really lift me up in these troubling times...so here i am now, writing this blog and trying to study...kk...shall close it now and get down to newton-raphson and linear-interpolation...you get to work too k...leave a mark!!! :)

The 2nd last week of the hols are coming to a close...one more week of mugging and *voila* it's block test 2 time...even after so much preparation and revision, i still don't feel ready for BT2...and my targets are all Cs...as candice puts it, it's a Hard Knock life...Hooray! there's church tomorrow...at least there's still something to be happa about...i'll be playing in the band tomorrow for my bro's and zara's worship...have to be in church by 9 cos joyce needs a little more practice...really hope she does get it right this time...*sigh*...anyway, i think PLH does need good musicians cos in this new age, people are attracted to the music...so if it's good, then i think PLH's attendance will increase threefold!...i'm really looking forward to that day...enough rambling...it's time for me to get outta here so i hope you enjoyed reading this...and yeah...do leave a mark...
Ah...finally a place where i can pen down...no, wait...key in all my thoughts and experiences for the whole world to see...Anyway, I really hope that it'll turn out good...And do remember to leave a mark...
